MAT Exam 2025: The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2025 is one of the most recognized MBA entrance exams in India, conducted four times a year by AIMA. For the MAT December Session 2025, the PBT mode MAT Exam 2025 will be held on 13 December 2025, while the CBT mode is scheduled for 21 December 2025. Candidates aiming to get admission to top management programs offering MBAs or PGDMs can give the MAT entrance exam, as over 600 business schools accept MAT results. The application fee for candidates applying for either the PBT or CBT exam format is set at INR 2200. However, candidates can apply for a combined mode of test (PBT + CBT) by paying INR 1600, INR 3800 in total. This particular combined test format will allow the candidates to select 7 management institutes in total instead of 5.

All the candidates who have completed their graduation from any discipline are eligible to register for the MAT December 2025 exam. MAT December Exam 2025

The MAT December Exam 2025 will be held in two formats: Paper-Based Test (PBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT). The PBT is scheduled to be held on December 13, 2025. As addressed on the official website, the PBT will be held in 29 cities. The CBT exam for MAT 2025 is scheduled for December 21, 2025, and will be conducted in 40 cities. The MAT national-level test is accepted by more than 600 business schools across India for MBA and PGDM programs. As for one of the most salient aspects of the MAT exam, the exam is CMMI SVC Level 3 certified.

MAT December Admit Card 2025

The MAT Admit Card 2025 for the December session 2025 will be released on different dates for PBT and CBT modes. For the PBT exam, the admit card will be available from December 10, 2025, at 5:00 PM. For the CBT exam, candidates can download it from December 18, 2025, at 5:00 PM. As per the official notice, only candidates who have successfully registered will be able to download their admit cards. Students visit the official website mat.aima.in and login to the Applicant Dashboard. Candidates can find details like their name, form number, roll number, date of exam, time of exam, and the test centre address on their admit cards. 

MAT December Result 2025

The MAT December Result 2025 will be available to view and download on the official MAT website. Candidates appearing in the exam can expect the results to be declared by the second week of January 2026. Once the results are announced, candidates must login with their credentials and navigate to the ‘Applicant Dashboard’ to download their respective MAT December 2025 scores. The MAT score is valid for a duration of 1 year and as the exam is conducted four times a year, the best score is accepted even after multiple attempts. The result cum scorecard for the MAT exam will comprise details like the name, roll number, and date of birth of the candidate, date of exam, and MAT scores (sectional scores, overall score, composite scores, and overall percentile). 

MAT Counselling and Seat Allotment Process 

Once the MAT exam results are declared, the next process is seat allotment to colleges based on the cumulative scores obtained in GD and PI. As per AIMA guidelines, each candidate with valid MAT scores will be able to apply to 5 business schools. However, if the candidates have selected the PBT + CBT mode of examination, then they can apply to a total of 7 business schools. The selection process following the MAT exam results includes a written ability test, a group discussion round, and a personal interview round. Only the selected candidates will be getting a call from any of their choice of institutes for further evaluation rounds based on their MAT scores and the colleges’ selection criteria. 

MAT Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

The MAT exam consists of a total of five sections, and in each section, candidates will have to answer 30 questions. The exam duration is set for 120 minutes, and there will be a total of 150 questions to be answered during this time. Each question will carry 1 mark and there will be a negative marking of -0.25 for each wrong answer. The overall score will be calculated based on all the sections of the aptitude test and the exam will be conducted in the English language. There are two modes in which the examinees can give the exam: PBT and CBT, candidates can choose either one or both of the modes to give the exam.

MAT December 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The MAT 2025 eligibility rules are very simple. Any graduate from a recognized college can apply, and even final-year students are allowed. MAT does not have an age limit, and you don’t need a specific percentage to register for the exam.

General Eligibility

To appear in the MAT December 2025 exam, the applicant must be a graduate from any recognized college and in any discipline. There is no minimum age requirement to appear for the MAT exam. 

Educational Qualification

Though the MAT exam doesn’t require a minimum academic percentile in graduation, there may be individual academic cutoff scores for some business schools. 

Final-Year Students

Students in their final year of graduation are also eligible to appear for the MAT December 2025 exam. However, final-year students will have a deadline to submit their degree proofs to the college.

MAT December Application Form 2025

The MAT December Application Form 2025 will be started. Candidates looking forward to appearing in the MAT December 2025 exam can register for the PBT mode till December 7, 2025, and for the CBT mode till December 15, 2025. The application confirmation is subject to the successful payment of the application fee. The application fee for candidates registering for either the PBT or CBT mode of exam is INR 2200. Candidates must note that if they choose only one of the examination modes, they can only select 5 management institutes. However, if the candidates select the (PBT + CBT) mode of examination with an additional fee of INR 1600, they can select a total of 7 management institutes. This will take the total application fee to INR 3800.  

MAT Cutoff 2025

The AIMA does not release MAT cutoffs, and each business school determines their own cutoffs. These cutoffs are utilised by individual institutions to shortlist candidates for further evaluation rounds: WAT, GD, and PI. The MAT cutoff December 2025 will depend on the difficulty level of the exam, the range of MAT scores obtained by the total number of examinees, the total number of seats available in individual institutions, and previous years’ trends.
