NIFT Entrance 2026 Registration Open: Apply by Jan 6 for Feb 8 Exam

The application window for the NIFT admission has been officially opened for applicants to register by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The application window opened on 8 December 2025 and the last date for submitting the application form is 6 January 2026.  

The UG, PG, NLEA (lateral entry), artisans category, and the PhD entrance tests for the same are scheduled to be held on Sunday. 8 February 2026. The entrance tests will be officially conducted within the nation through both Pen-and-Paper (PBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT) modes in around 100 cities. 

NIFTEE 2026 Exam: Courses offered 

The following courses will be taken in admissions through NIFTEE-2026 

• UG programmes like the Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech) will be taking admissions through GAT (General Ability Test) and/or CAT (Creative Ability Test).

• PG programmes conduct tests including GAT (General Ability Test) and/or CAT (Creative Ability Test) for admission to the Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech), Master of Fashion Management (MFM) and Master of Design (MDes).

• NIFT Admissions of Lateral Entry category (NLEA) have their own eligibility guidelines for the courses such as BDes (Lateral Entry) & BFTech (Lateral Entry).

• PhD course admissions need a written test, which would be conducted by the NIFT, and a presentation for the research proposal with an interview (RPPI).

• NRI /foreign/OCI/SAARC/PIO candidates need to apply as per the guidelines set up by the NIFT Admission Committee. 

NIFTEE 2026 Exam Eligibility Criteria  

Applicants need to fulfill all the mandatory requirements, including the academic qualifications, subjects, and special requirements. Candidates are needed to check out the full list of the NIFT Guidelines for Admissions 2026 and the NIFTEE Information Bulletin 2026 prior to applying for the entrance. 

The applications are to be submitted on the official NIFT website. Candidates need to submit the latest photographs, signature, live photo proof, and the remaining documents as per the way prescribed. UDID cards will be mandatory to submit by the PwD/PwBD category applicants.

Steps to Apply for the NIFTEE 2026

Step 1: Candidates must visit the official NTA website section of NIFTEE: https://exams.nta.nic.in/niftee/

Step 2: Select the desired course category from the programme list available.

Step 3: Create the login ID and password by entering all the required details. 

Step 4: Fill the application form after completing the user registration process & select your preferred city for the exams. 

Step 5: Upload the required set of personal documents like passport-sized photograph, live photo proofs, signature, etc. 

Step 6: Pay the mandatory application fee after submitting the application form. 

Step 7: Click on the submit button after you’ve uploaded all the required details in the form, and download your final confirmation page for future reference.
