UGC NET Application Form 2025 

The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is a national-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions in Indian universities and colleges. The exam is held twice a year, typically in June and December, covering about 80 subjects. The UGC NET application form 2025 has been released on 7 October 2025 to 7 November 2025 at official website. The UGC NET December Exam 2025 is scheduled to be held on 31 December 2025 to 7 January 2026.

To be eligible to appear for UGC NET, candidates should hold a master’s degree or equivalent or a 4-year bachelor according to the UGC Guidelines. Along with it, to pursue JRF or Ph.d or become an assistant professor, candidates should qualify UGC NET with 40% for general category students and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates. (These may vary based on category and subjects, too.)

How to fill out the UGC NET Application Form 2025? 

The UGC NET 2025 application process started from 7 October 2025 and lasted till 7 November 2025. To complete the application process, candidates must complete the online registration process by submitting personal and academic details, uploading required documents, and paying the application fee. 

Note that applicants should fill out the application form with caution, without making any mistakes, as some mistakes made in the application form cannot be corrected even during the correction window period. This could result in an exemption from the examination. 

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to fill out the application form: 

Step 1: Visit the Official Website: Go to ugcnet.nta.ac.in and click on the registration link.

Step 2: Register Yourself: Provide basic details like name, email, and mobile number to create login credentials.

Step 3: Fill the Application Form: Enter personal, academic, and category details as required.

Step 4: Upload Documents: Submit scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and relevant certificates.

Step 5: Pay the Application Fee: Complete the payment using UPI, net banking, or debit/credit card.

Step 6: Submit & Download Confirmation: Review the details, submit the form, and download the confirmation page for future reference.

UGC NET 2025 Documents Required 

• Scanned passport-size photograph (recent, in color)
• Scanned signature
• Class 10th certificate, 12th and UG Certificate 
• Postgraduate degree certificate or final year mark sheet
• Category certificate (if applicable: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS)
• PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar card, PAN card, Passport, Voter ID, etc.)

Note: - 

• Photograph and signature must be in the prescribed format and size as mentioned in the official UGC NET 2025 Information Bulletin.
• Ensure all scanned documents are clear and legible.

UGC NET 2025 Application Correction Window 

The UGC NET 2025 Application Correction Window for the December session 2025 is open from 10 November to 12 November 2025. During this period, candidates who had submitted their applications were allowed to make corrections in date of birth, category, and parent's names, especially for those who had verified their Aadhaar. However, critical fields like name, gender, photo, signature, mobile number, and email address were not open for modification.

To access the correction facility, applicants had to log in to the official UGC NET portal using their registration credentials. It’s important to note that this was a one-time opportunity, and no further changes were permitted after the deadline. Candidates were advised to double-check all entries before final submission to avoid disqualification or issues during the examination process.
