UGC NET December Exam 2025 

The UGC NET exam is conducted by NTA to take admission into Ph.D. programs, JRF, or for candidates who are aspiring to become assistant professors. The exam is a computer-based test, conducted in both English and Hindi languages, and Candidates can choose their preferred language to appear for the test. 

The UGC NET Exam 2025 December session will be held from 31 December 2025 to 7 January 2026 online in two shifts from 9:00 am to 12 PM and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm per day for 85 subjects, including Education, Yoga, Anthropology, Human Rights and duties, International Duties, and more. The UGC NET is a national-level competitive examination held twice a year, in June and December, respectively. 

UGC NET December Admit Card 2025 

The UGC NET December Admit Card 2025 is an essential document for candidates appearing for the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the NTA. The admit card of the UGC NET 2025 December session is to be released on 3rd week of December 2025, just a few days before the exam scheduled from 31 December 2025 to 7 January 2026. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the official UGC NET website ugcnet.nta.ac.in once it becomes available by entering their application number and password/date of birth.

UGC NET Answer Key 2025 

For the December session 2025, the UGC NET answer key 2025 will be released on January 2026. The UGC NET conducting authority, NTA, will release the answer key after the started of the examination and before the result announcement. Generally, it is made available online 10-15 days before the announcement of the results on the official website of UGC NET. 

The answer key is a document containing the answers to the questions asked in the examination. UGC NET December Result 2025

Candidates will be able to download and save the results from the official website of UGC NET. It is advised that the candidates download and save their scorecards for future reference. UGC NET 2025 Counselling and Seat Allotment Process

The UGC NET 2025 counselling and seat allotment process begins after the declaration of results. Candidates who qualify for the exam and are shortlisted based on merit are invited for document verification, which is a crucial step to confirm eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant Professor roles. Unlike traditional counselling, UGC NET does not involve college seat allocation. Instead, it verifies academic records, category certificates, and other required documents. Once verified, eligible candidates receive official certificates that ensure their eligibility.

UGC NET 2025 Exam Pattern

The UGC NET 2025 exam will be conducted online in CBT format, that is, computer-based, and will include multiple-choice questions(MCQ). The exam will consist of two papers, both conducted in a single session without a break. Paper 1 evaluates teaching and research aptitude, while Paper 2 is subject-specific. The paper will be available in both English and Hindi. Candidates will have 3 hours to complete the paper. The marking scheme ensures fair assessment, with no negative marking for incorrect answers.

UGC NET Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The UGC NET 2025 eligibility criteria determine who can apply for the exam, ensuring that candidates meet the required academic qualifications and age limits. Here is a detailed list of eligibility criteria to be eligible to appear for UGC NET: 

• Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognized university with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Transgender candidates).
• Candidates with a 4-year undergraduate degree are now eligible to apply for UGC NET 2025. They must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent grades in their undergraduate course.
• The maximum age limit for UGC NET is 30 years as of the exam date, with relaxation of up to 5 years for reserved categories.
• Candidates appearing for their Master’s final year exams can apply provisionally. 
• There is no limit on the number of attempts for Assistant Professor eligibility.

UGC NET December Application Form 2025 

The UGC NET December Application Form 2025 has been released on 7 October 2025 to 7 November 2025 along with the release of the application forms for the examination. Interested candidates could fill the application form by filling in the required information, such as personal details including name, address, caste, and more, along with professional and educational details like the last class passed with attached scanned documents. The process involves paying the application fee of INR 1,150 for general students, INR 600 for EWS/OBC students, and INR 325 for ST/SC and more.

UGC NET Cutoff 2025 

The UGC NET 2025 cut-off date for the December session exam, which is held between 31 December 2025 to 7 January 2026, will be released along with the results. The result is expected to be released in late January or early February 2026. The exact date will be announced on the official UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the UGC NET cutoff along with the results, determining the minimum qualifying marks for candidates.
